The situation escalated when additional security reinforcements arrived to restore order. Yahaya Nda Isah, a resident of Hassan Dalatu Road, Suleja, was struck by a stray bullet while riding his bike near the Suleja Police ‘A’ division, where protesters had gathered. His nephew told Daily Trust that Isah was not participating in the protest and was struck by a bullet aimed at dispersing the crowd.

The nephew said, “He was not involved in the protest. He was simply passing by when he was hit in the chest by a stray bullet and died immediately. We are currently mourning his loss.”

Another victim, Mallam Abu, was also killed at the scene along with three others, while two additional individuals were shot at the Suleja Junction on the Abuja-Kaduna road.

Niger State Police Command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, reported that some individuals had attempted to set fire to the Tafa Local Government Area but were dispersed by police and military forces. He added that the Kaduna road and toll gate have been cleared.
