The amended law will be applicable to the upcoming council of local officials, set to be elected on November 18.
Len highlighted that the bill underwent the required processes outlined by the House before its passage.
The House decided to revise the previously established three-year administrative term for elected local government officials, reducing it to two years.
Additionally, Len disclosed that the 10th Assembly, in line with Governor Agbu Kefas’s authorization, has settled the legislative staff allowances that had been overdue for seven years.
Len commended Governor Kefas for his commitment to the welfare of Taraba workers and assured that if any staff member has not received their allowance, it might be attributed to a network issue with their bank.
