Speaking to the press in Yenagoa, Akinaka highlighted the significance of the refinery’s operational resumption in alleviating the pressure on the nation’s currency and the influx of foreign exchange. He underscored that this development is a pivotal step towards achieving Nigeria’s goal of zero petroleum oil product imports.

Akinaka extended his commendation to the management of Port Harcourt Refinery, under the leadership of Mr. Ibrahim Onaja, and Technomont, the contractors responsible for the rehabilitation. He praised their relentless efforts and unwavering commitment to realizing the objectives of the refinery’s restoration.
