During an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Edu emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to various poverty alleviation programs targeted at supporting vulnerable populations in the country. She highlighted the collaborative efforts between her ministry and other relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Trade and Industries, which oversees small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and has facilitated loans for small businesses nationwide.

Edu underscored the intentional nature of the government’s initiatives, emphasizing President Tinubu’s dedication to alleviating the hardships faced by Nigerians. The minister outlined diverse strategies, including partnerships with international entities such as the World Bank, with the ultimate goal of lifting 50 million people out of poverty in the specified timeframe.

Furthermore, Edu provided updates on the resumption of payments to beneficiaries of the N-Power program. She disclosed that the payment of arrears to beneficiaries commenced the previous day and would continue until every eligible individual receives their due funds. Edu assured N-Power beneficiaries across the nation that the restructuring of these processes aims to reduce unemployment and generate job opportunities for Nigerians.
