The reduction comes just nine days after NNPC lowered prices to ₦875 in Lagos and ₦900 in Abuja on August 6, following a brief hike to ₦915 and ₦955, respectively.
Meanwhile, on August 12, Dangote Petroleum Refinery also announced a price cut, bringing petrol down to ₦820 per litre from ₦850. The refinery emphasized its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic growth and ensuring a stable supply of petroleum products.
“As part of our dedication to national development, Dangote Petroleum Refinery guarantees a steady and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products,” the company stated.
In line with its sustainability initiatives, Dangote plans to deploy 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for nationwide fuel distribution, starting August 15, 2025.
