2027 Presidency: PDP Insider Declares Jonathan ‘Has Nothing To Offer,’ Says Obi Could Be A Game-Changer
PDP chieftain Dan Ulasi has asserted that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, would be a major asset for the party in the 2027 elections. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, Ulasi said that if the Southeast were to produce the next president, it would symbolically mark the official end of the civil war.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Ulasi also cautioned against the return of former President Goodluck Jonathan to the PDP and a potential presidential bid in 2027, claiming that Jonathan has little to offer. He suggested that such a move would make it easier for President Bola Tinubu to secure a victory.
He stated, “The PDP must select a candidate from the South, determined internally… and I believe it is the Southeast’s turn to produce the president. Without explicitly trying to zone the presidency, if a Southeasterner becomes president, we would have achieved something historic—the official end of the civil war. It would give people from that zone a true sense of belonging, after thousands of lives were lost in the war.”
Ulasi continued, “Bringing Peter Obi back into the party would be a significant advantage. If so many citizens are looking to him, it reflects qualities that could help make this country much better. As for Jonathan, he has already served six years. I wish him well, but if he seeks a comeback, it would likely be an easy win for Tinubu because he has nothing else to offer.”
