Meanwhile, the PDP candidate, Oluyede, expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) at his polling unit, describing delays that slowed down accreditation and voting.
Speaking after voting at Unit 6, Ward 3, Osagburu Family Hall in Ikere-Ekiti, he said the BVAS device malfunctioned, leading to a sluggish accreditation process. He noted that only about six voters had been accredited since voting began at 8:30 a.m.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Independent National Electoral Commission) were reportedly working to fix the issue and restore smooth operation of the device.
Oluyede condemned the situation, calling it unacceptable and alleging that repeated BVAS failures were disrupting the process. He also vowed to formally report the irregularities to the appropriate authorities.
