Data from the portal indicates that results from 514 out of 2,445 polling units have so far been uploaded, representing about 21.02% of the total expected results across the state.

Meanwhile, election observer group Yiaga Africa has raised concerns over alleged inconsistencies in the election materials provided by INEC. The group pointed to discrepancies between ballot papers, result sheets, and the official list of candidates.

In a statement signed by the Chair of its 2026 Ekiti Election Observation Mission, Dr. Aisha Abdullahi, and Executive Director Samson Itodo, Yiaga Africa noted that the Form EC8A result sheets contained spaces for 15 political parties, while the ballot papers in circulation included 19 parties. It also observed that INEC’s final candidate list, updated on June 18, 2026, listed 14 parties with approved candidates.

According to the statement, Yiaga Africa’s observers were present in 96% of 250 randomly selected polling units as of 8:30 a.m. on election day.

The organisation acknowledged that changes to party participation followed initial candidate lists, including court rulings and administrative adjustments, but argued that these updates may not have been consistently reflected in all election materials or properly communicated to the public.

Yiaga Africa warned that such inconsistencies could cause confusion during voting and collation. It explained that presiding officers might record zero votes for parties appearing on result sheets but not on ballots, while votes cast for parties not reflected on result sheets could create challenges in reconciliation and collation.

The group urged INEC to urgently clarify the final list of participating parties and candidates, and to explain the differences across election documents. It also called for clear written guidelines to presiding and collation officers on how to correctly complete result sheets in line with applicable laws and court rulings, particularly in situations where party listings differ between ballots and result forms.
