Breaking: President Tinubu Touches Down In Abu Dhabi, UAE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday ahead of his participation in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), scheduled to commence on Monday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu’s aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport at exactly 11:30 p.m. local time, where he was warmly received by top officials of both countries.

Those present to welcome the President included the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan; the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi; Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar; and members of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi.

Upon arrival at his hotel, President Tinubu was further received by senior Nigerian officials, including the Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Muhammed Muhammed.

The President arrived in Abu Dhabi from Europe, where he spent part of his end-of-year break and held discussions with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, themed “The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go,” serves as a global platform bringing together world leaders, policymakers, investors, and experts to promote dialogue and action on sustainable development, climate change, energy transition, and inclusive economic growth.

President Tinubu’s visit underscores the growing diplomatic and economic partnership between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, while reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to global sustainability efforts.
