Breaking: Victor Boniface Set To Join AC Milan After Passing First Medical Test

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, 24, who enjoyed a standout season with Bayer Leverkusen, is closing in on a move to AC Milan on a season-long loan.

Reports indicate that Milan will pay an initial €5 million loan fee, with a non-mandatory buy option set at around €24 million. If activated next summer, the overall deal could climb to nearly €30 million.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed the progress of the move via social media, stating: “Boniface’s AC Milan fitness tests have been completed.” The striker underwent initial assessments before continuing further medical checks at Galeazzi Hospital in Milan.

Other trusted insiders — Fabrizio Romano, Matteo Morett, and Florian Plettenberg — also revealed that Boniface has agreed in principle to a four-year contract, which will be triggered if Milan make the transfer permanent.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri has been eager to strengthen his attacking line, with injuries and lack of depth posing early-season challenges. With Santiago Gimenez the only fit natural striker and Rafael Leao sidelined by a minor knock, Milan fast-tracked their striker hunt.

The Rossoneri had previously explored deals for Rasmus Højlund (Manchester United) and Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus), but negotiations stalled. Boniface has now emerged as the preferred solution, and the club is hopeful of sealing the transfer in the coming days.

If completed, Boniface will become Milan’s eighth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci, Koni De Winter, Pervis Estupiñán, Zachary Athekame, and Pietro Terracciano.
