Buni Swears In 17 LG Transition Chairmen

Governor Hon Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has recently sworn in interim transition committee chairmen for all 17 Local Government Areas in the state. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the banquet hall of the Government House in Damaturu. Governor Buni emphasized the necessity of these appointments to prevent any administrative vacuum in his government, citing the expiration of the tenure of the last elected local government councils.

During the ceremony, Governor Buni urged the caretaker chairmen to focus on intensifying efforts for local revenue generation. This, he stated, would play a crucial role in supporting the financing of development projects within their respective areas, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of the local communities.

Governor Buni highlighted that the appointments were made based on merit, taking into account the individuals’ hard work, loyalty, experience, and their demonstrated zeal to provide selfless services to the grassroots. He encouraged the newly appointed chairmen to dedicate their efforts to improving the lives of the people at the grassroots level.

Additionally, the governor advised the caretaker chairmen to pay special attention to the relationship between farmers and herders, particularly during the farm harvest period. He also addressed the migration of herdsmen, stressing the importance of managing these aspects for the overall peace and development of the state.
