The arrest came after diligent efforts by the Gombe State Police Command, led by officers dedicated to combating rural crime. While Maikudi has been apprehended, two other suspects believed to be involved in the theft are currently evading capture.
Providing insights into the incident, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, shed light on the case. It was revealed that the 23 cows, belonging to Anchau Maishanu, were unlawfully taken and later sold by Maikudi and his accomplices.
Mahid stated, “Maishanu reported at Pero Chonge Divisional Police headquarters that three suspects, including Maikudi, conspired among themselves and stole his 23 cows from Golombi village and sold them.”
Following Maishanu’s report, an investigation swiftly ensued, leading to Maikudi’s arrest and the recovery of all the stolen livestock. The diligent efforts of law enforcement have once again demonstrated their commitment to upholding justice and safeguarding the community against criminal activities.
