CBEX Scandal: EFCC Seeks Victims’ Testimonies To Crack Case Wide Open
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called on Nigerians who lost funds to the fraudulent cryptocurrency platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), to report at its zonal offices in Ibadan and Lagos to aid ongoing investigations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The invitation was issued in a statement on Friday, August 23, by the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
“The EFCC is currently prosecuting three individuals—Adefowora Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Chukwuebuka—over their alleged roles in the CBEX scam,” the agency said.
CBEX reportedly deceived investors with promises of unrealistic returns, resulting in substantial financial losses for many Nigerians.
The EFCC urged victims to come forward, stating:
“In light of the above and to assist the commission in its ongoing investigation, victims who invested through individuals linked to CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, are requested to report to our Ibadan Zonal Directorate and Lagos Zonal Directorate 2.”
