Aliyu described the recovery as a significant achievement that reflects the commission’s commitment to combating corruption and promoting accountability in Nigeria. “Over the past years, the ICPC has made substantial progress in fulfilling its mandate. For instance, we recovered over N13 billion in diverted public funds in September 2024 alone,” he stated.

He also highlighted ongoing ICT reforms aimed at digitalizing ICPC operations to enhance investigations, case management, and internal processes. “This transformation positions the commission as a leader in leveraging technology to combat corruption, allowing us to stay ahead of criminal activities in the digital age,” he added.

Additionally, Aliyu mentioned the development of a specialized curriculum designed to improve the enforcement capabilities of ICPC personnel.

On September 20, 2024, the ICPC announced the recovery of nearly N4 billion in public funds within just 24 hours, from September 18 to 19, 2024. This recovery involved funds that had been illegally transferred to private accounts, as revealed by Chairman Aliyu during a National Anti-Corruption Coalition (NACC) Members Interactive Forum in Abuja.
