Chaos In Sokoto: Over 90 Bandits On Motorcycles Open Fire In Community

The assailants attempted to infiltrate the village but met strong resistance from security forces. According to reports, a well-coordinated response from military and police personnel successfully intercepted the bandits, although a local resident tragically lost his life in the confrontation.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, in a post on his handle on Tuesday, revealed that the clash led to a fierce exchange of gunfire, forcing the bandits to retreat.

During the skirmish, a stray bullet fired by the bandits struck 35-year-old Sule Ummaru as he tried to flee the scene. Ummaru was rushed to General Hospital Isa but unfortunately died from his injuries while undergoing treatment, Makama confirmed.

Following the incident, security forces have increased patrols in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of residents.

In a surprising turn of events, bandits terrorizing communities in Nigeria were recorded holding Eid prayers for the recently concluded 2025 Ramadan fast.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared a video on his account on Tuesday, April 1, showing the bandits performing Eid prayers at two separate locations in Kaduna State: Maidaro, Sabon Birni, and East Kaduna in the Dogon Dawa Forest.

The video shows the bandits armed with guns and other advanced equipment, including drones and mobile phones. Makama tagged both the Nigerian Army and the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in the shared clip.
