Hansi Flick Sends Strong Warning To Barcelona After Perfect Start

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has urged his players to remain focused and disciplined as they prepare to face Levante in La Liga on Sunday, September 13, with the Spanish champions looking to preserve their perfect start to the new season.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Barcelona have won all five of their matches across competitions so far, scoring 22 goals while conceding just three. Despite their impressive form, Flick has warned that complacency could quickly derail the team’s momentum.

Flick acknowledged that football can change rapidly and stressed the importance of maintaining the attitude that has helped Barcelona produce such a strong start.

“We know in football things can change very fast. I like that we are enjoying the situation right now,” Flick said. “If we change something from this attitude, we’ll go in the wrong direction, and this is what we don’t want.”

Barcelona’s attacking players, including Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, have been instrumental in the team’s recent performances. The Catalan giants scored five goals against Feyenoord in the Champions League and have also recorded convincing La Liga victories over Rayo Vallecano, Valencia and Elche.

Flick believes Barcelona must continue to combine their attacking quality with intensity, concentration and discipline if they want to maintain their current level.

“We’re very happy we are playing on this level but we know that we have to show it in every game,” he said. “We know we have huge quality but we also have things we’re doing that are important for us. When we keep the intensity high, we are focused and we are active.”

Barcelona are also targeting their first Champions League triumph since 2015, with Flick admitting that winning Europe’s biggest club competition remains one of the club’s major ambitions.

However, he revealed that club president Joan Laporta has also placed significant importance on retaining the La Liga title and potentially securing a third consecutive league championship.

“I spoke with the fans, with the people in Barcelona. This year we have to win the Champions League and of course this is a dream for us, this is our objective to win this,” Flick added.

“The president also said that La Liga is also important, and to win La Liga three times in a row, it would be amazing.”
