Chimamanda Adichie Joins Labour Party’s Peter Obi At Presidential Election Tribunal
On Tuesday, acclaimed author Chimamanda Adichie stood in support of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, as they appeared before the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja.

The tribunal resumed its proceedings to consider the adoption of written addresses presented by the petitioners. Peter Obi’s claim revolves around alleging that the presidential poll was marred by rigging in approximately 18,088 polling units, in addition to alleged instances of overvoting in parts of the South West.
Former Vice President and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, was also in attendance at the tribunal.
The defendants, in their final written addresses, urged the court to dismiss Obi’s petition on grounds of lacking merit. The parties involved are expected to present oral arguments, following which the PEPC, presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, will adjourn for judgment.
