This revelation was shared by American journalist Jackson Hinkle, shedding light on the complicated geopolitical dynamics currently unfolding in Niger.

It’s important to recall the backdrop against which this is happening. Niger is presently grappling with political instability following a military coup that ousted President Mohamed Bazoum. In response to this, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), led by its Chairman, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, has made moves to intervene and restore democracy in Niger.

The military junta in Niger, aiming to counteract potential ECOWAS military action, has sought the aid of Wagner, known for their operations in Central African Republic, Mali and other West African countries.
