Dangote Breaks Silence On Male Heir, Says He Would Not Have Done Better Than My Three Daughters

President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has said having a son to carry on his family name is not a priority for him, stressing that he is content with his three daughters.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the 69-year-old billionaire made the disclosure during an interview with Arise News on Tuesday while speaking about his family, succession plans and the future of his wealth.

Dangote said he believes the outcome of such matters ultimately rests with God, noting that having a male child does not necessarily guarantee the continuation or success of a family name.

He stated that while people may pray for a son, such a child could also make choices that negatively affect the family’s legacy. He therefore advised against forcing circumstances when certain things do not happen as expected.

The business mogul further expressed confidence in his three daughters, Mariya, Halima and Fatima, saying he does not believe a son would have achieved more than they have.

His comments came amid renewed discussions about succession and how his substantial wealth would be managed in the future. Dangote also confirmed that his family has signed an agreement concerning the allocation of part of his estate to philanthropy.

According to the arrangement, 33 per cent of his estate will be transferred to the Dangote Foundation after his death, with the foundation expected to use the funds for charitable purposes and to support people in need.

Dangote explained that the agreement was formally documented because he recognises that he will not live forever and wants part of his wealth to continue serving philanthropic causes beyond his lifetime.

Speaking on the qualities young people need to succeed, the billionaire urged them to work hard, remain consistent and stay focused on their chosen goals.

He advised young people against trying to pursue too many things at once, encouraging them to concentrate on their area of interest, remain patient and avoid rushing the process of achieving success.
