Recent reports indicate that at least four vessels carrying imported PMS docked at Nigerian seaports between October 18 and October 20, delivering around 123.4 million liters to bolster fuel supply across the nation.

A senior official from the refinery confirmed that oil marketers are now permitted to engage in direct transactions with the facility on a willing-buyer, willing-seller basis. “Marketers are already coming to lift PMS directly from the refinery, not through a third party,” the official stated, emphasizing that the engagement depends on competitive pricing.

The official also noted that discussions with various marketers are ongoing, although specific pricing details were not disclosed. With the Federal Government now supplying crude to the refinery, the production of petrol is expected to stabilize.

The refinery aims to allocate approximately 53% of its crude oil for petrol production, a figure that may be adjusted based on future demand for other refined products. As demand remains high, the refinery is focused on meeting both local and regional needs directly.
