Renowned Nigerian artist, David Adedeji Adeleke, commonly known as Davido, has opted to resolve the breach of contract lawsuit brought against him by Brownhill Investment Company Limited, led by the former President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, out of court. As part of the agreed terms, Davido has consented to pay N30 million to the claimant within seven days, serving as a partial settlement of the claimant’s outstanding legal fees. The resolution was reached in a N2 billion lawsuit filed against him.
Previously, the claimant, represented by lawyer Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, had sought N2 billion in general damages from Davido, along with N150 million for legal and professional fees, and an additional N30 million for the cost of filing the suit.
Davido, alongside his music label Davido Music Worldwide Limited, were listed as defendants in the lawsuit. Following extensive discussions and negotiations, both parties have agreed to perform at the “Warri Again Concert” edition on October 4, 2024, as part of the settlement.
Additionally, the $94,500 already paid by the claimant to the defendants will be considered for the performance at the event, as stipulated in the consent judgment.
