Governor Adeleke officially stepped down from the PDP on November 4, 2025, though the news only surfaced on Monday night.

His resignation letter, later shared online by aide Olawale Rasheed, cited unresolved issues within the party at the national level as the reason for his departure. Addressed to his Ward 2 chairman in Ede North, Adeleke acknowledged the party’s support during his journey from senator to governor but said continuing under the current circumstances was untenable.

In response, Davido simply wrote on his X page: “Jeje…”

The development has cast uncertainty over the Osun 2026 governorship primaries. The state PDP announced a postponement due to internal disagreements, while the party’s National Working Committee maintained that the exercise should continue.

Governor Adeleke remains the sole candidate who purchased the nomination form, adding to the confusion.

Speculation now suggests he may seek a second term under the Accord Party, with some aides reportedly moving into the new party and taking up key positions in Osun. Previous attempts to join the APC were unsuccessful, with party leaders allegedly rejecting his application.
