Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that Akpabio has repeatedly hindered her participation in Senate debates and discussions related to her constituents.
During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Thursday, April 3, 2025, the suspended senator stated that she would present evidence of sexual assault when the time and context are appropriate.
She said, “At the right time and in the right space, I will present the evidence that I have.”
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied accusations of partisanship regarding the failed recall of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Earlier on Thursday, INEC dismissed the petition to recall the senator, stating that it did not meet constitutional requirements.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, clarified during an appearance on Politics Today that the commission followed due process in handling the matter.
