The Senator commended INEC’s unwavering commitment to justice and adherence to constitutional principles, resisting pressures from undemocratic forces both within Kogi State and the Senate.

Earlier on Thursday, INEC announced that the petition to recall the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District did not meet the constitutional requirements, and therefore, no further action would be taken.

In her response, Akpoti-Uduaghan issued a statement expressing relief and gratitude: “God has put to shame the anti-democratic forces plotting my recall from the Senate, including one of the most wanted persons by the EFCC, former governor Yahaya Bello.”

She asserted that the people’s will had prevailed, emphasizing that neither former Governor Yahaya Bello nor Senate President Godswill Akpabio and their allies could undermine the mandate freely given by the people of Kogi Central.

Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her faith in God and the support of her constituents, stating that the rejection of the recall process was a triumph of justice over injustice. She praised INEC for maintaining its independence and standing against manipulation.

She further condemned the actions of those behind the recall attempt, referring to them as “agents of darkness,” and celebrated the electoral body for exposing their deceit.

Reflecting on the victory, she said, “To God be the glory, we have defeated them once again. This is a historic moment against manipulation, election rigging, and violence in Kogi Central and beyond.”

In a message to her political adversaries, Akpoti-Uduaghan warned that their influence in politics was dwindling, as the new era of accountability and integrity would no longer accommodate those associated with violence and corruption.

Expressing her appreciation to her supporters, she acknowledged the resilience of Nigerians, particularly the people of Kogi Central, and reaffirmed her commitment to fighting for justice and contributing to the greatness of Nigeria.
