Death Does Not Scare Us – Turji States Conditions For Achieving Peace....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Bello Turji, a notorious figure linked to terrorism, has accused both the current Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, and his predecessor, Bello Matawalle, now the Minister of State for Defence, of politicizing the state’s insecurity issues. Turji, believed to have fled Zamfara due to intensified military operations against terrorist groups, made these accusations in a newly released video……CONTINUE READING
In the video, Turji, armed and seated on a brand-new motorcycle, outlines his conditions for restoring peace in Zamfara. He demands an end to attacks and killings of Fulanis by security forces and vigilante groups, arguing that these local security entities are exacerbating the ongoing conflict and violence.
Turji criticized the blame game between Governor Lawal and Matawalle, calling it political maneuvering that disregards the welfare of the local population. He contended that both leaders are not acting in the best interests of their constituents, using the state’s security crisis to further their political agendas. “Governor Dauda Lawal and Bello Matawalle accusing each other of terrorism sponsorship will not help. The people of Zamfara should realize they are just politicians with no genuine interest in their well-being,” Turji said.
He added, “When Matawalle was governor, who was sponsoring us? Similarly, who sponsored us when Abdulaziz Yari was in office? Nobody is sponsoring us except God.” Turji stated that the armed conflict in Zamfara predates both Lawal and Matawalle, tracing its roots back to the administration of former governor Ahmed Yerima.
“It was during Yerima’s tenure that the government sold off the grazing reserve and legalized the killing of the Fulanis. Muhmud Shinkafi attempted to address the issue but was unsuccessful. Abdulaziz Yari empowered the vigilante groups, yet we still struggle,” Turji explained.
He remarked that Matawalle served as governor for four years, and Lawal has been in office for two years, asserting that only God, not the governors, can end the conflict. “We urge everyone to collaborate with us for peace and to stop the bloodshed in Zamfara. Guns and airstrikes will not intimidate us because we are not afraid of death,” he stated.
Turji also confirmed the killing of Halilu Sububu, referring to him as his mentor, claiming that such killings only embolden younger members of their group to continue violent attacks. “Kachallah Halilu Sububu is not the first casualty; many others have been killed. His death will not deter us unless you stop killing our brothers in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, and Niger states,” he warned.
He concluded, “Your plan is to exterminate the Fulani race, but God has been protecting us. Even if you kill us, it is God who ordains that, not your power.
