Defence Minister Hails FG’s Acquisition Of ATAK-129 Helicopters For NAFThe Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, has expressed strong optimism that Nigeria is on the brink of defeating banditry, thanks to recent victories by security forces. Badaru took the opportunity to commend the military and security personnel for their dedication and sacrifices in the fight against bandits, terrorists, and other criminal elements. He emphasized that the government would continue to provide the necessary support to ensure their effectiveness in carrying out their duties.

Accompanied by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, Badaru explained that the new ATAK-129 helicopters offer superior capabilities to other fighter jets, making them vital tools in the ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal activities and restore peace and stability to the Northwest region.

“These helicopters bring unmatched speed, precision, and reach, ensuring no criminal can escape justice,” Badaru said. “With these new platforms, our military is better equipped to confront and eliminate those who threaten our national security.”

The Minister also reiterated his gratitude to the troops, recognizing the personal sacrifices they make by leaving their families and homes to safeguard the nation’s future. He assured them that the government remains committed to providing the necessary resources, incentives, and support for them and their families.

Badaru called for continued collaboration between the air and ground forces, as well as other stakeholders, to maximize the impact of the operation. He emphasized that synergy among all involved parties will be critical to ensuring the success of the campaign.

Reflecting on the recent successes of the military, Badaru highlighted the destruction of several bandit hideouts over the past week, thanks to the deployment of various military platforms. He expressed confidence that, if this progress continues, banditry in Nigeria will be eradicated soon.

“The end of banditry is near,” Badaru concluded. “We urge the public to continue providing cooperation, intelligence, and prayers as we work towards a safer and stronger Nigeria.
