The former Chief of Defence Staff made the commitment during his senatorial screening in Abuja on Wednesday.
Musa assured senators that he would adopt firm and decisive strategies to tackle the nation’s security challenges. He emphasized that his leadership would not hesitate to deploy the full force of the armed forces against criminal elements destabilizing communities.
“There will be zero tolerance for banditry or terrorism under my watch. We are going to act decisively. I will ensure that the armed forces are fully deployed because security is localized,” Musa stated.
The retired general is currently undergoing Senate screening ahead of his confirmation.
His nomination came shortly after former Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, resigned from the position. President Bola Tinubu, in a letter to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, formally requested that lawmakers consider Musa’s appointment. The letter was read during plenary by the Senate President.
