Deji Adeyanju Sparks Debate With Controversial Remark About Jobless Nigerian Women

Activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has sparked reactions online after commenting on relationships, financial responsibility and the economic pressures facing Nigerians.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Adeyanju made the remarks in a post shared on X, where he argued that the difficult economic situation in Nigeria makes it unreasonable for people to depend entirely on their partners to meet their financial obligations.

He specifically addressed men in relationships with unemployed women who, in his view, maintain expensive lifestyles despite not having a source of income.

Adeyanju wrote: “If the devil wants to punish you as a man, he will give you a jobless Nigerian babe with high taste.”

He went on to highlight the financial challenges confronting many Nigerians, arguing that individuals should avoid taking on additional financial burdens when they are already struggling to meet their own needs.

“With the extremely bad economic situation of Nigeria, no one should be relying on another person to pay their bills. The country is too hard for you to add a liability to the list,” he stated.

His remarks have generated discussion on social media, with reactions focusing on financial independence, expectations within relationships and the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
