This warning came on Thursday, October 17, 2024, during the parade of a female POS operator accused of receiving a ₦4 million ransom on behalf of kidnappers.

Edafe stated, “My message to POS operators is clear: transactions exceeding ₦500,000 can lead to serious trouble. Don’t become a means for kidnappers to collect ransom, as these transactions can be traced back to you. This individual received ₦4,000,000 in ransom, and her profit was only ₦40,000. Consider the risks—while you might think you’re running a business, you could end up spending time in prison before your lawyer can assist you.
