An aide to the governor of Delta State, Ossai Ovie Success, has criticized actor Olumide Oworu for holding his girlfriend closely while taking a picture.

Last night, Olumide celebrated his girlfriend’s birthday on his Instagram page, sharing a photo of himself holding her by the waist.

In response to the photo, Ovie expressed his disapproval in a Facebook post, stating that it is inappropriate for a man to romantically hold “someone’s daughter” who is not his wife. He argued that responsible unmarried individuals would not engage in such behavior and attributed it to a lack of proper parenting.

He wrote:
“Holding someone’s daughter romantically when she is not your wife is unacceptable behavior.
Dear Olumide Oworu, your photo with your girlfriend reflects poor parenting.
If both of you had received proper parental guidance and understood moral values, you wouldn’t have taken or shared such a photo publicly.
No responsible young man or woman would take such a photo before marriage.
You haven’t fulfilled the traditional obligation of paying her bride price, yet you publicly refer to her as your amazing girlfriend.
If she is indeed amazing, why haven’t you formalized your relationship? Why the delay?
The root cause of such issues in society is inadequate parenting.”
