Pat Utomi, the leader of the National Consultative Front (NCF), has sharply criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its handling of the recall petition against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, accusing the electoral body of engaging in “shameless” behavior.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The criticism comes amid increasing controversy surrounding the recall petition, which has sparked significant public attention. The petitioners have since complied with INEC’s requirements by providing necessary contact information, including mailing addresses, phone numbers, and emails, which were previously missing.

Utomi voiced his disapproval on the social media platform (formerly Twitter), condemning INEC’s actions as “evil” and lamenting the commission’s failure to exercise restraint, despite mounting public pressure against the senator’s recall.

“Trying to understand the character of evil opens one to all kinds of learning. That evil does not know shame is amazing,” Utomi remarked. “You would expect that in the face of all that is happening, INEC would, out of shame, distance itself from a recall of Sen. Natasha, especially when people are calling for a recall of the entire Senate.”

Utomi further expressed his frustration, stating that “evil knows not shame,” and called for a rethink in Nigeria’s political trajectory. “The Nigeria salvage mission needs a rethink. The barbarians are not at the gate; they own Main Street,” he concluded, hinting that INEC’s actions reflect broader issues within the nation’s political system.
