Omokri pointedly questioned Obi’s selective outrage, highlighting the politician’s failure to condemn the burning in Onitsha. He underscored the inconsistency in Obi’s stance, noting that while the former governor criticizes the demolition exercise by the Lagos State Government as ill-timed, he remained silent when the Anambra State Government demolished illegal properties earlier this year.

Furthermore, Omokri emphasized the confusion in Obi’s claim to speak for “the poor in our midst,” pointing out the disparity in his reactions to demolitions in Anambra, where the homes of the poor were affected, and Lagos, where multimillionaires’ properties face demolition. The commentator raised questions about Obi’s apparent endorsement of certain actions in Anambra while opposing similar measures in Lagos, highlighting what he perceives as double standards in the politician’s response to these situations.
