Detained Suspect Claims They Were Paid N50 Million To Assassinate Apostle Johnson Suleman

In a video interview shared on Twitter, Isa disclosed the tactics his eight-member team employed to evade capture by security forces, suggesting that their arrest was a result of divine intervention.
Isa stated, “It is not easy for the Police Force to track us. We don’t make calls, and the phone I am using has never been used to call anybody.
We specialize in using the Telegram platform to communicate with ourselves. Telegram uses usernames, not numbers, unlike WhatsApp.
Even the line we are using to buy data is not a registered line. We did not register any line ourselves, and we did not open any account with our own identity.”
Regarding the assassination plot, Isa claimed ignorance of the person behind it but revealed that his gang members informed him they were offered N50 million to kill the cleric. He expressed remorse and expressed a desire to personally seek forgiveness from Apostle Suleman.
Isa further disclosed that his gang had faced significant hardships since the attack, losing two of their leaders named Eliazu and Ejima
. He admitted to being the next leader in the hierarchy after Ejima and acknowledged the arrest of his gang members, with four remaining in Abuja and Ekiti State.
The attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy resulted in the tragic loss of seven lives, including three police officers. The incident took place in the Auchi area of Edo State while Suleman was en route to an undisclosed location, shortly after returning from Tanzania.
The police spokesperson, Mr. Adejobi, confirmed that Isa was apprehended in Ondo State. He also revealed that intelligence had uncovered the syndicate’s involvement in multiple kidnappings in Edo State and its environs between 2021 and 2023, culminating in their eventual arrest by the police.
