The Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, played host to an atmosphere of prestige and national pride as the 17th Leadership Annual Conference and Awards unfolded on April 8, 2025. With the theme “Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria’s Fiscal Federalism,” the event brought together a constellation of Nigeria’s brightest minds — from governors and senators to captains of industry and diplomatic figures.

Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, Honourable Minister of Regional Development, was among the eminent dignitaries in attendance — a presence that subtly underscored his alignment with thought leadership and national transformation efforts.
The high-level gathering began with arrivals of ministers, lawmakers, royal fathers, and VIPs by 9:40 a.m.

The program featured rich cultural and intellectual moments, including a rousing welcome address by the Chairman of the Leadership Group, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah, who set the tone for a reflective and forward-thinking engagement. Contributions from revered royal father HRH, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, the Etsu Nupe, added further cultural depth to the event’s grandeur.
Hon. Momoh, known for his calm intellect and vision-driven leadership, was seen engaging with other national stakeholders and policy influencers, reinforcing his role in championing inclusive development across Nigeria’s diverse regions.

As awards were presented to deserving governors, corporate leaders, and prominent Nigerians for their excellence in 2024, the Honourable Minister’s participation served as a powerful symbol of solidarity and strategic engagement at the highest level.

The keynote address by Vice President Shettima, delivered shortly after noon, offered a deep dive into the event’s theme — shedding light on how Nigeria can rework its fiscal framework for sustainable growth. As the discussions advanced, Hon. Momoh’s presence remained a quiet testament to the federal commitment to equitable regional development.
