During a meeting between Kogi State PDP stakeholders from the state’s three Senatorial zones and members of the National Working Committee at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, the Kogi State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, emphasized that the PDP is poised to triumph in the impending election due to the extent of devastation left by the outgoing All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

Melaye confidently stated, “PDP is set to secure victory in the Kogi State election because our state has never experienced such dire circumstances in its history. He added, “The PDP is entering the scene to mend these hardships and alleviate the suffering.”

Melaye also issued a call to the people of Kogi State, urging them not to be intimidated by the APC’s threats, violence, or attempts at suppression. He assured them that the PDP is dedicated to protecting their democratic rights.

Umar Damagun, the party’s acting National Chairman, echoed Melaye’s sentiment and expressed confidence in the PDP’s victory. He underscored the purpose of convening the meeting as a step to ensure that all PDP members and supporters in the state are united in their pursuit before the election.

Damagum emphasized, “We perceive promising prospects in the upcoming Kogi election, hence this gathering is geared toward understanding your challenges and addressing reconciliation prior to the election.”

He further highlighted the multi-stage reconciliation process that will extend from the ward level to the local government and state levels. He noted that the presence of influential stakeholders was pivotal in anchoring the reconciliation efforts.

Additionally, Damagum conveyed that the Osun State Governor, who also serves as the Chairman of the Kogi Campaign Committee, is committed to conducting zone-based campaigns and discussions with the stakeholders. He assured that the governor is fully dedicated to his responsibilities in the Kogi electoral process.
