Dino Melaye Faces Suspension As PDP Enforces Disciplinary Actions

Ward executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State have suspended former Senator Dino Melaye. The suspension was issued by the PDP executives in Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, citing Melaye’s failure to respond to an invitation from the party.

According to the Ward executive committee, Melaye was suspended due to anti-party activities and alleged misconduct. The decision came after a meeting held by the Ward’s executive committee in Aiyetoro/Luagba Ward 1 on Friday, where they reviewed a report from the disciplinary committee that investigated the accusations against Melaye.

The suspension notice, signed by Ward Chairman Abayomi Osamika and Secretary Yodson Dayo, stated: “Senator Dino Melaye’s actions have caused embarrassment and disrepute to the party, making his continued membership untenable.”

The Ward executive committee invoked Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution, which grants local executives the authority to discipline members, to enforce Melaye’s suspension, effective immediately.
