The Zamfara State Government, on Thursday, donated brand-new operational Hilux vehicles to all Police Divisional Headquarters and their substations.
During the ceremony held at the Government House in Gusau, Governor Lawal emphasized that ensuring the security of lives and property remains his administration’s top priority. He reiterated the government’s commitment to covering any mechanical faults, fueling, and other financial issues that could impede the police from fulfilling their duties.
Governor Lawal stressed that no society can thrive in an insecure environment, pledging to take all necessary steps to combat insecurity in Zamfara State.
In his address, the Governor extended condolences to the police and military forces over the tragic loss of five police officers and two soldiers, who were killed by bandits in the State. He honored their sacrifice, saying, “These brave security officers gave their lives to defend our nation. May Almighty Allah forgive their shortcomings and give their families the strength to endure this irreparable loss.”
In response, the State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu Dalinja, expressed his gratitude to the State Government for its unwavering support in strengthening the police command. Dalinja assured that the police, alongside the military and other security agencies, would intensify their fight against the bandits, warning that the criminals should expect more determined resistance in the future.
