Disgraceful Cover-Up Exposed!” – IPOB Slams Shehu After Aso Villa Rat Invasion Admission
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have slammed former presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, over his recent confession that the widely circulated “villa rat invasion” story—used to justify President Muhammadu Buhari’s extended absence from office—was a fabrication.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Before Buhari’s return to Nigeria on August 19, 2017, following nearly three months of medical treatment in the United Kingdom, IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu had alleged that the real Buhari was dead and had been replaced by a clone named Jibrin from Sudan.
When Buhari eventually returned, skepticism arose among Nigerians, with some echoing Kanu’s claim and questioning whether the person who came back was truly Buhari. The doubts intensified after presidential aide Bashir Ahmad announced that Buhari would be working from home rather than from his official State House office.
In Chapter 10 of his book, titled “Rats, Spin and All That,” Shehu admitted that he concocted the villa rat story to distract the public from concerns about Buhari’s health and capacity to lead.
Reacting in a statement on Sunday, IPOB’s spokesperson Emma Powerful said Shehu’s revelation vindicates Nnamdi Kanu’s long-held claims about Buhari’s health and the web of lies within the presidency.
IPOB stated: “We receive with righteous vindication Garba Shehu’s startling admission that the so-called ‘villa rat invasion’ was a deliberate lie aimed at covering up Buhari’s prolonged illness and absence from duty.
“The world should remember: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said years ago on Radio Biafra that Muhammadu Buhari was seriously ill, unfit to govern, and that the Nigerian presidency was drowning in lies. Now, the man who once labelled our leader’s statements as ‘fake news’ and ‘hate speech’ has admitted to masterminding a national deception.
“What greater act of betrayal is there than lying to over 200 million citizens about the health and presence of their president?
“This shameful confession only strengthens everything Kanu has ever said about the deceit and fraud within the Nigerian state. He was vilified, arrested, tortured, and illegally renditioned for speaking the truth. But truth, no matter how suppressed, eventually comes to light.”
