“As a professional police officer, you bloody… please, gentlemen, somebody record what I am saying so that when I am going to charge you, I will have proof. I said stop shooting. I have appealed to people to move back, but you continued shooting and firing tear gas,” the Air Force officer stated in the video.
“I told you to move your vehicle behind the Air Force vehicle so I could serve as a buffer between you and these people, but you refused to do so,” he added.
It is noteworthy that since the start of these peaceful demonstrations by Nigerian youths nationwide, there have been multiple instances, with evidence, of officers from the Nigeria Police Force opening fire on protest crowds.
