Drama In APC As Wole Oke Is Disqualified From Reps Primary After 24 Years In National Assembly
The screening committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Wole Oke from contesting in the party’s primary election for the Obokun-Oriade Federal Constituency seat in Osun State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to reports by Independent, Oke was screened out after appearing before the committee in Abuja on Wednesday.
Sources close to the process revealed that the decision was largely influenced by zoning arrangements within the constituency.
Party insiders disclosed that some members of the screening panel argued that the APC ticket should be allocated to Oriade Local Government Area rather than Obokun, Oke’s hometown.
Oke has represented the Obokun-Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives continuously for 24 years, and his latest ambition was aimed at securing a seventh straight term in the National Assembly.
The disqualification has now halted his bid to retain the seat.
The veteran lawmaker was first elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before defecting to the APC in 2025.
He was recently named Director-General of the APC campaign council for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
In the upcoming poll, APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji is expected to face incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking another term in office.
