Ajayi, who rose to prominence with his 2020 album God of the Earth, was arrested in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, near the Federal Capital Territory, after being found with Adaidu’s severed head in a polythene bag.

The Nasarawa State High Court has ordered Ajayi’s remand as investigations into the gruesome killing continue.

In an interview with Channels Television, Ajayi’s father appealed for leniency, saying, “I want the government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released.”

However, his mother expressed a different view, opting to let justice take its course. “If it was one of my daughters they did that to, how would I feel?” she said. “So the government can do anything they want to do. Everything is in their hands.”

A Tragic Turn in a Relationship

During interrogation, Ajayi confessed to the crime, stating that he had been in a one-year relationship with Adaidu. He claimed an argument escalated into a violent altercation, during which Adaidu allegedly tried to stab him.

Ajayi, who also promotes himself as a motivational speaker on TikTok, admitted that the rest of Adaidu’s body was at his residence.

The remains of Salome Adaidu have since been laid to rest, with a viral video showing mourners in anguish at her burial. The grieving Adaidu family continues to call for justice amid widespread outrage.
