A senior DSS source in Kano confirmed to Daily Post that the operatives raided the kidnappers’ hideout, catching them off guard while they were reportedly dividing the ransom collected from the abduction.

Rarara’s mother had been kidnapped approximately three weeks ago but was released by bandits on July 17, 2023.

Providing details on the operation, the source stated, “Our operatives overpowered the kidnappers, killing one instantly and apprehending another who sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving medical treatment. We also recovered the N26.5 million ransom paid to them.”

The source emphasized that the operation was based on precise intelligence that led them to Makarfi Forest.

He added, “The operation was highly successful, and the captured kidnapper, currently under treatment, is cooperating with us by providing valuable information about their criminal activities.”

“I can confirm that the kidnappers, identified as Hamisu and Bature, are of Fulani descent. Bature, who is undergoing treatment, is assisting us with insights into their operations,” the source concluded.
