Civil servants at grade levels 16 and 17 are encouraged to apply for these positions. The selection criteria will include adherence to the state’s equity principle.
The applications will be assessed with consideration given to Ebonyi State’s three senatorial zones – Ebonyi North, Ebonyi Central, and Ebonyi South. Additionally, representation from the thirteen local government areas including Abakaliki, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Izzi, Ezza North, Ezza South, Ikwo, Ishielu, Ivo, Ohaukwu, Ohaozara, and Onicha will be ensured during the appointment process.
According to the statement, “The Ebonyi State Executive Council has approved the appointment of twenty-five permanent secretaries to fill current vacancies as recommended by the State Head of Service, Dr. Rita-Mary Okoro. Eligible candidates on grade levels 16 and 17 are invited to apply, ensuring equitable representation in the appointments.”
Governor Nwifuru also announced plans to continue developing the state’s Trade Center. Chief Inyima Sunday, the Commissioner of Lands, will oversee the process of reclaiming land and constructing a perimeter fence around the 10-storey Ebonyi Trade Center located at Presco Junction, Abakaliki. This center is slated to house the state’s hotel and other recreational facilities.
The state government aims to implement these initiatives promptly under the directive of the State Head of Service.
