Edo 2024: INEC Sets Time For Collation Of Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the schedule for the collation of results from the Edo State governorship election.
As reported by Naija News, tension has been building in Edo State following the election held on Saturday, September 21, with concerns from voters and political stakeholders about the delay in announcing results.
INEC’s main collation centre is located at its head office in Benin, the state capital.
In a statement issued on Sunday morning, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, confirmed that the collation process would begin at 10 a.m. He emphasized that the process would be conducted transparently and called for calm among political actors.
Onuoha’s statement read: “The collation of results for the ongoing Edo State Governorship Election will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. We are conducting the process in line with INEC’s regulations to ensure accuracy and credibility.”
He further urged all parties to maintain peace as the election collation concludes, reaffirming INEC’s commitment to delivering a free, fair, and transparent election.
