Benin City will tomorrow host an important conversation about the future of energy in Edo State as government and private sector leaders gather for the Edo Renewable Energy 2026 – Solar Energy Stakeholders’ Engagement.
Convened by the Edo State Ministry of Power, the strategic session is expected to bring together key actors across the energy ecosystem to explore practical pathways for expanding solar power solutions and strengthening the state’s long-term electricity resilience.
The engagement will be hosted by the Honourable Commissioner for Power, Hon. Paul E. Usenbo, Esq., and will take place Tuesday, March 17, 2026, by 10:00 AM at the Ministry of Power, 2nd Floor, ARDP Building, Ministry of Works Complex, Benin City.
Energy experts, renewable technology providers, investors, development partners and policymakers are expected to participate in discussions aimed at accelerating solar adoption and unlocking new opportunities for sustainable energy development across Edo State.
With global momentum shifting toward renewable energy, the Edo State Government is positioning itself to take advantage of emerging technologies that can complement existing power infrastructure while expanding access to cleaner and more reliable energy sources.
Officials say the engagement is designed to build stronger partnerships between government and industry players, stimulate investment in solar solutions, and create a roadmap that supports Edo’s growing economic and development needs.
Solar energy continues to attract increasing attention across Nigeria due to its potential to provide stable power for homes, businesses, schools and healthcare facilities while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.
By convening stakeholders to share ideas and practical solutions, the Edo State Government hopes to accelerate the transition toward a more resilient and diversified energy system capable of supporting industrial growth and improving everyday life for residents.
As discussions begin tomorrow in Benin City, one message remains clear:
The future of energy is evolving, and Edo State is taking proactive steps to be part of that transformation.
