Ego Clash? Usher And Chris Brown’s Backstage Disagreement Sparks Major Concert Delay
American R&B stars Usher and Chris Brown reportedly engaged in a heated backstage disagreement ahead of their concert in Atlanta on Thursday night, an incident said to have contributed to a delay of nearly three hours before the performance began.
According to Bush Radio Academy, citing reports from sources familiar with the incident, the disagreement centred on when the concert should start as heavy traffic prevented some fans from arriving at the venue on time.
While Usher reportedly wanted the show to proceed as scheduled, Brown preferred to delay the performance until more concertgoers had arrived and taken their seats. The differing positions allegedly led to an exchange of words between the two entertainers backstage.
Sources also claimed that tensions between the singers had been building throughout their joint R&B Tour, describing their relationship as highly competitive. The disagreement was reportedly linked to clashes of ego, with neither party having fully resolved their differences.
However, sources indicated that the backstage confrontation was unlikely to affect the continuation of the tour, despite the delay and the frustration it caused among fans who had waited for hours for the concert to begin.
Usher and Brown were also scheduled to perform in Atlanta on Friday night, following Thursday’s delayed show.
The reported disagreement is not the first time the two musicians have been linked to a public confrontation. In 2023, they were reportedly involved in a tense incident at Brown’s birthday celebration, where Usher allegedly intervened after Brown began shouting at singer Teyana Taylor.
