Commissioner for Information Taiwo Olatunbosun announced the approval in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday. The council has awarded a N2.71 billion contract to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation for the rehabilitation of De-Head to Faglo, Basiri Junction Road in Ado Ekiti. This project aims to ease traffic congestion, improve socio-economic activities, and enhance security and quality of life for residents. The roadwork is expected to be completed in 12 months.
Additionally, the council approved N701 million for the renovation and remodeling of the state Assembly complex and the House of Assembly Service Commission building. This contract, awarded to ClemCharles Nigeria Limited, aims to modernize the facilities to better support legislative and administrative functions, with a completion timeline of 12 weeks.
The government also allocated N229 million for the purchase of farm machinery, including tractors and ploughs, to support the agricultural sector. This procurement, awarded to AGCOMS International Trading Limited, is set to be completed within four weeks and reflects the administration’s commitment to boosting agricultural productivity.
Further, N177.9 million has been approved to clear 325 hectares of land for the “Youths in Agriculture” initiative, benefiting youths from various local government areas.
Lastly, the council sanctioned a N329.4 million contract for the construction of a 100-bed hostel at Command Secondary School, Isan Ekiti. The hostel is expected to be completed in 12 weeks and will facilitate full boarding facilities for students, in partnership with the Nigerian Army.
