Everybody Carrying Flask Soon – Ex-Lawmaker Slams FG On KWAM 1 Honour
Former House of Representatives member, Dachung Bagos, has criticised the Federal Government for appointing veteran Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, as an ambassador for airport security protocols.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television on Thursday, Bagos warned that the move sets a dangerous precedent and sends the wrong signal to the public.
“With all the drama, now he is an ambassador. This means everybody will start moving around with a flask and stage drama just to get appointed as an ambassador. Regardless of the explanation, Nigerians perceive it as completely wrong,” he said.
Bagos also condemned the possible consideration of Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, for a similar ambassadorial role, despite her aggressive behaviour at a Lagos airport. He cautioned that such appointments could encourage unruly conduct on aircraft.
“I’m waiting to see Yahoo boys arrested by the EFCC being made ambassadors. I’ve not even seen justice for people killed in Plateau. What does the law say when you violate these rules?” he added.
The former lawmaker urged the government to prioritise passenger sensitisation and review airport security protocols, stressing that many travellers still do not understand the purpose of switching devices to flight mode. He also questioned how Kwam 1’s liquid-filled bottle was allowed through security, noting that it contravenes standard airport regulations.
The Federal Government announced Kwam 1’s engagement as an airport security protocol ambassador on Wednesday, following a controversial incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025.
The decision has drawn widespread backlash, especially amid comparisons with the Emmanson case, in which the passenger allegedly assaulted a flight attendant and confronted security officers on an Ibom Air flight.
