In a significant political shakeup, Chief Mike Oziegbe Onolememen, the former Minister of Worksand a foundational member of the PDP since 1998, has officially tendered his resignation from the party. An excerpt from his resignation letter stated:

“After carefully analysing the protracted conflict in the party and consulting with relevant stakeholders from my immediate constituency, political associates, friends, and family, my decision was made. Bushradiogist has reported that Onolememen is currently eyeing a shift to the APC in preparation for the upcoming elections next year. This transition could potentially reshape the political landscape in the region as the Edo 2024 gubernatorial race looms on the horizon. CONTINUE READING

In a similar vein, Engr Gideon Ikhine, another erstwhile PDP stalwart, parted ways with the party earlier in July. While Ikhine has yet to officially declare allegiance to a new political faction, sources from Bushradiogist indicate he too might be inclined to join the opposition, specifically the APC. Ikhine’s exit from the PDP in July was sensational, as it was revealed he had been offered millions of dollars to step aside in the previous elections, allowing Governor Godwin Obaseki to run unopposed.

The coming months are poised to be politically charged as these influential figures determine their next moves ahead of the pivotal 2024 elections.
