Several individuals tragically lost their lives in an accident that occurred in the vicinity of Aloma, located in the Ofu local government area of Kogi state, on Sunday morning.

The incident, which unfolded near Aloma Teachers’ College, involved two buses and a trailer. The collision led to a sudden ignition, engulfing the vehicles in flames and resulting in the demise of all occupants.

The eyewitness stated, “All the passengers in the Toyota bus, including the driver, were burnt to death. Those in the Sienna bus also suffered a similar fate, with no survivors. Additionally, an articulated vehicle parked nearby became engulfed in flames and was reduced to ashes. Furthermore, a nearby house was destroyed by the intense inferno.”

Tragically, due to the absence of firefighting equipment, some of the trapped passengers could not be rescued by villagers at the scene. As of now, confirmation of any survivors remains pending, except for those within the parked articulated vehicle.
